Nicole Calder
Nicole is a Clinical Psychologist, registered under the New Zealand Psychologists Board. She completed her training at Waikato University in 2008 and gained experience during her training in neuropsychological assessment, adult mental health services and older persons services. She spent two years working in the United Kingdom before returning to NZ to settle in the Bay of Plenty. Since then, Nicole has worked in a multidisciplinary private practise, gaining knowledge and experience in working with people from diverse backgrounds with a variety of emotional, relational and mental health difficulties.
Nicole is experienced in working with survivors of trauma and abuse and has specific interest and expertise in late life emotional difficulties and caregiver support. More recently, Nicole has progressed into the role of company Director for Phoenix Psychology, providing group, individual and organisational psychological services to the Bay of Plenty region and beyond.
Steve Hoover
My name is Steve Hoover and I have been involved with Phoenix Psychology in the administration and management role since 2016.The role is varied and I enjoy my involvement with clients via telephone
and email helping out whenever I am able.
I appreciate the sensitive and confidential nature of this role and take care to respect the needs of all clients. My primary role is as accounts administrator, however I aim to help out in any way possible.

I have worked many years within the Health Sector in a variety of roles. Most recently as the Lead Office Co-ordinator and Financial Assistant for a large Medical and Well Being Practice. My Current role as Administrative Support Person transitions key areas of responsibility with primary focus on triaging incoming referrals and co-ordinating suitable support.
Phoenix Psychology has an extensive list of external therapists working within the Thames/ Coromandel/ Hamilton/ Tauranga and Bay of Plenty area. My goal is to make a difference by providing effective communication and timely admin support whilst always maintaining a high level of respect towards confidentiality.
I feel privileged to be a member of the Team and look forward to the journey ahead
